Do What’s Best for the Customer

In all situations, act in the best interests of our customer, even if its to our own detriment. There’s no greater way to build a reputation than to earn the trust of those we serve – every day.

It’s important to remember that the ultimate goal of any organization should be to fulfill the needs of the customer. There will be some situations where doing what’s best for the customer is a personal inconvenience, such as taking an emergency service call at closing hours or during the weekend. However, it is these instances where we really have the opportunity to gain the trust of our customers and build a reputation as a company that puts the customer first – don’t miss out on the opportunity!

Make a Great Impression

Make every customer interaction stand out for its friendliness, warmth, and helpfulness. Be a fanatic about response time and keeping customers updated on the status of their issues. Create loyalty by doing the unexpected and creating experiences that people will tell others about.

A good first impression serves as the foundation to any successful business (and personal) relationship. Impressions are formed nearly instantly – how do you want to be remembered? At Alliance, we strive to show our customers that they are our number one priority right from the get-go. Some ways to help make a great first impression include:

  • Be on time
  • Be mindful of your appearance
  • Listen attentively
  • Maintain positive body language
  • Make eye contact
  • Stay positive

Do the Right Thing, Always

“It is the action, not the fruit of the action, that is important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there’ll be any fruit, but that doesn’t mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action, but if you do nothing, there will be no result” – Mahatma Gandhi

It is not always easy to do the right thing when you are stressed, tired, or busy. We oftentimes forget that other people have their own problems they are dealing with and focus on our own needs. At Alliance, we make it a point to always do the right thing – regardless of the situation.  Doing the right thing means treating coworkers and customers with respect, performing jobs with honesty and integrity, and even deferring a customer to a competitor if it is in the best interest of the customer. Doing the right thing is a core fundamental in the Alliance culture and shapes the way we make business decisions every day.

Think & Act Like the Owner You Are

Make decisions by asking yourself, “What should I do since this is our company? What should I do since this is our money? Will this help our company win? As an owner, how can I contribute to our success?”

Here at Alliance, everybody is an owner. Being part of an Employee Stock Ownership Program means that as the company becomes more lucrative, so does your bank account! Decisions should be made with the best interests of the company in mind, as these decisions will have a direct impact on the value of the company and your future earnings. Rarely do employees belong to a company where the success of the company can be directly traced to the hard work of the individual employees.
