OSHA Operator Training Law 1910.178

 

Employers are responsible to properly train their operators under 1910.178(I)(2)(i)(B)

The employer shall ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specifies in this paragraph.

The OSHA Course Outline must include

(A) Class Room

(B) Practical Training

(C) Operator Evaluation

Under 1910.178(I)(2)(ii)

Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace.

OSHA Lift Truck Operator Training at Our Sites

 

Training is held monthly in Jessup, Maryland or Winchester, Virginia. Please check our calendar.

Training consists of

A. Formal Training: Includes Classroom Powerpoint lecture, Video and Written Testing

B. Practical Training: Pre-shift Inspection, Operational Skills will be demonstration. Student will have practice time.

C. Evaluation: Please Note..After completing Parts A & B, student MUST be evaluated at his Workplace or the New Employer's Workplace.

The program includes:

Choice of Training on One Pallet Truck and One Sit-down Rider Truck

or Training on One Stand-up model Lift Truck
